Upcoming Events

We have another Dragon Boat Event in July. On 8th July 2012 “Cobb’s Cursaders” will be in action again… giving it their all down the River Chelmer…

Looks like you missed this one, but you can still donate. Please help where you can…

On 17th July we will be sponsoring a team in a charity event – IT’S A KNOCKOUT! This crazy event will include a series of physical challenges such as gauntlet runs, cannon runs, mountain biking and archery! My wife, Victoria, and some of the AIS Seminar Team will be in the Cobb’s Crusader’s team – who we have sponsored to take part! It will be a crazy and fun day! To support them, and Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research we would ask kindly for any support you can give by donating to our dedicated Just Giving Page www.justgiving.com/itsaknockoutfortimreeve all donations go directly to the Leukaemia &Lymphoma Research Charity – a registered Charity.

This event is once again connected to the Tim Reeve Charitable Trust and Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. Victoria and I have a history of supporting the many events run by John Reeve and his wife Sandra in memory of their son Tim who died from acute leukaemia in December 2005. This is a form of blood cancer – the trust set up by his parents was established with the mission of supporting young people with blood cancers. The sponsorship raised from the event will go to Leukaemia and Lymphoma research – this is the only charity dedicated to research of blood cancers including leukaemia.

John and Sandra have raised over £160k since losing their son to Leukaemia and begin their charity work when John walked from the UK to Germany for the World Cup in memory of Tim in 2006 – you can see some of the other work they have done – http://www.justgiving.com/user/2514336 – In the past Victoria and I have taken part in events such as Dragon Boat Racing and Forget Me Not Walks to support the Reeve Family. We hope to raise at least £2,000 to support the charity in this event and Victoria will be doing something herself next year to raise even more.

To give you an example of how your contribution can make a difference, in May this year Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research launched a unique network of clinical trial centres which will give blood cancer patients access to new life-saving drugs sooner and improve survival rates. This trial is called “Tomorrows Treatment Now”. Leukaemia Research relies entirely on voluntary support and receives no government funding so every contribution counts, no matter how big or small.
Thanks again for any support you can give this fantastic charity!
